Setting and design
The hot springs precinct is located on coastal land with views to the ocean, intended to feel closely connected to the surrounding dunes and rocky shoreline. Stage one is planned to feature a series of large pools with different temperatures and experiences, including a swim-up bar, reflexology walk, and accessible and family-friendly areas. An “Apothecary” workshop is intended to highlight products using marine minerals and Australian botanicals, emphasizing links between sea, landscape and wellbeing.
Future development
Later stages of Phillip Island Hot Springs are planned to add performance and cultural spaces, a spa center, and a dedicated oceanfront thalassotherapy facility focused on saltwater bathing. Extensive revegetation is proposed, with around 100,000 indigenous trees and shrubs to be planted to create a sheltered, immersive bathing landscape over time.
